This was such a fun cute Cinderella retelling!!!And I loved the baking competition mix-in!

This is book you’ll not want to put down! Great character development and a neat twist to Cinderella. I love how Mouse was represented in this story! The details of the baked goods will have your senses coming alive.
I am not a good baker, however, after this book I wanted to create something yummy, so I can only imagine how those who bake would enjoy this book!
The Stepmother and stepsisters are truly selfish and yet in this story it’s nice to see the main character have friendships she develops who support her and love her.

This book was hard to put down! The writing flowed so well that I didn't realize I'd read several chapters at a time. There are great lessons also. I felt sorry for Cinder so many times. A caring heart or 2 can be found in this Cinderella retelling. A few surprises too.

Eeee! Cinderella retellings are always so unique in their retellings and this one was no different I loved EVERY part of this story! Especially the character growth from Celine. Most Cinderella stay kind, but Celine learns boundaries in being kind There's something fulfilling in a familiar story reminding us that giving kindness to someone who abuses doesn't mean you have to keep giving to that person, even if its your family A.G.Marshall worked some FABULOUS magic here! I had no idea how this would end and it knocked my socks off! I was expecting a Cinderella story where she'd forgive or the stepmother would be sorry but I found the message of healthy boundaries refreshing for Cinderella's tale It's okay to want for yourself and to take the actions necessary for what you want so long as you're kind and understand that you deserve kindness in return (Also, Mouse was adorable!!) 10/10, NEED on my shelf now

This amazing, clean retelling of Cinderella didn’t have magic wands or pumpkins turning into carriages, but the gist of the story was still there, and it was definitely recognizable! A lot of it was centered around food, and I got hungry reading it, but I also loved how the Cinderella character treated everyone around her with love, kindness, and respect, and I adored the ending! This twist on Cinderella was adorable! I loved that it takes place at a bakery and that the Prince has as much of a secret identity as "Cinderella."
It was both sad and empowering to see Celine gradually realize what those around her had seen for years: her family didn't care for nor treat her the way a family should. However, in realizing this, it freed her to see the found family she had acquired through genuine kindness and friendship.
I also really liked the twist on the Prince, and how there were elements of the original Cinderella that were cleverly woven throughout the story. I can now honestly say, this is one of my top 5 favorite Cinderella retellings! I'd definitely recommend reading this if you're looking for something that's: cozy, sweet, a relatively fast read, with a touch of humor. I can't say enough good things about this book!

This is one of those books that I knew from the first line I was going to absolutely love and it more more than lived up to it's promise. It has a delightful cosy feel throughout and with the traditional balls of the Cinderella story replaced with a baking competition it has a unique feel and plenty of extravagant pastries. The friends to lovers romance was sweet and well written and the supporting chracters around the main couple were delightful (or were people you enjoyed seeing get what they deserved depending on which side of the good guy/bad guy line they fell on). It is a wonderful, fun, comfortable read.

This was just lovely. I love to bake, and have passed that on to all of my children, so centering "Cinderella's" betrayal around the kitchen hit me really, really hard!! (My complaint isn't even a complaint - Cinderella isn't Cinderella without an ""evil stepmother"". But this unique take on it really hit home.) I enjoyed the little cameos of all the classic Cinderella icons - mice, pumpkins, a carriage, the ""fairy godmother"" role(s), cinder, the blue shoes..it was so fun. I loved the combination of Cinderella with a classic baking competition!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! This is great for fans of the classic movie Ever After, or fans of Gabrielle Landi, Kenley Davidson, or Sarah Carlisle.

If you love Cinderella and the Great British Baking Bake Off, you will LOVE this story! Absolutely adorable! It was such a sweet and charming retelling of Cinderella. I loved the mashup of Cinderella and a baking competition! Super creative and had all the classic Cinderella elements. Celine was relatable character. She had fantastic character growth. Loved seeing how she blossomed throughout the book. Her relationship with Mouse was so endearing. They seriously had the sweetest friendship. Mouse was my favorite character. He was a constant friend. Always was encouraging and believed in Celine. I loved how their relationship developed and grew. There were many fantastic side characters. Madeleine was one of my favorite side characters and I hope she will get a story someday. This book was a lovely and enjoyable read!

Oh my goodness!! I loved this book! This is a retelling of Cinderella; however, it includes a baking challenge. Because I love to bake as well, I really enjoyed reading about all of the various treats and decorations. I have to admit that I did look up the pronunciation of a couple of words, but I did know how to say croquembouche and even what it was.

Not only did I love the food, but I also really enjoyed the characters and setting. I enjoyed this far more than the original Cinderella story because it was more of a love story than the original. Cinder and Mouse had such a wonderful relationship that developed in the perfect way. Arthur, Jacque, and the rest of the characters really drew me in as well. Even though this is the first book that I’ve read from A.G. Marshall, I’m hooked. I’m already planning on reading the rest of her books.

I loved reading Briony’s story. This book included all of the main points from the original and also managed to be something completely new. I love how Briony was different from the other mermaids to the point of being considered a villain, but she was also completely relatable. The characters and the world really came to life in this short, but amazing story.

I borrowed this book in KU a while back and it's definitely a book I intend to buy when I can.
